Arsenal‘s players believe Alexis Sanchez will join Manchester United in the coming days, according to reports.

The Chile international has been completely dropped for Arsenal’s clash with Bournemouth on Sunday as Arsene Wenger is now ready to cash in on the forward.

Manchester City came close to signing Sanchez for £60 million in the summer before Arsenal pulled the plug on the transfer, and were favourites to complete a deal this month.

But according to the Sunday Mirror, United have blown the Premier League leaders out of the water with their offer and members of Arsenal’s squad now believe that Sanchez is off to Old Trafford ‘in the next few days’.

The report claims that United are willing to offer the Chilean a contract in the region of £400,000-a-week, which would make him the highest-paid player in the Premier League.

United are also ready to submit a £30 million transfer fee to Arsenal, which is £10m more than what City are prepared to pay and just £5m less than the Gunners’ valuation.

City’s current contract offer stands at £290,000-a-week, which would still make him the top earner in Pep Guardiola’s squad, but it’s significantly less than United’s proposal.

Jose Mourinho, meanwhile, has suggested that United should capitalise on the chance to sign the Arsenal forward, whose contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season.

‘On the table there’s a fantastic opportunity and you fight for that opportunity,’ said the United manager.

‘If it happens, it happens; if it doesn’t happen, it doesn’t. But I like my squad, I like my players; the more time I spend with them, the more I like them.’
