Chelsea are sweating on the fitness of Alvaro Morata after the Spaniard limped out of training and are waiting on the results of a scan, according to reports.
But now The Evening Standard report that Morata pulled up in training in the final session before the trip to face the Hammers at the London Stadium.
He underwent a scan, and Chelsea are still waiting for the results, though he did board the team bus with the rest of the squad in the early afternoon as they travelled to their hotel.
Antonio Conte was coy on the fitness of several members of his squad at his pre-match press conference, with the club’s press officer blocking a question about Morata.
Speaking about his team, the Italian had explained: ‘We have to check a couple of situations and make the best decision for tomorrow’s game against West Ham.’
Pressed on who was struggling, he continued: ‘I must be honest I like to keep these situations… not secret… but I don’t want to tell you who these two or three players are.’
He was later asked if Morata was one of the players struggling ahead of the West Ham game.
At this point, Chelsea’s Director of Communications Steve Atkins interjected and said: ‘He’s already said he’s not going to name names.’
Morata, a £60m summer signing from Real Madrid, scored in his last Premier League outing for the Blues against Newcastle and has been prolific this season, leading the club’s scoring charts with nine goals.
