The rash of sexual assault claims that has consumed the world of politics and entertainment, has largely missed the world of sports.
That is, until now.
According to the Seattle Times, Hall of Fame quarterback and Seahawks broadcaster Warren Moon, has been sued for sexual harassment by a woman named Wendy Haskell. According to the report, Haskell, 32, became Moon’s assistant in July and traveled with him regularly on speaking engagements and appearances.
Haskell’s lawsuit claims that Moon “committed sexual battery by grabbing the woman’s crotch during a trip to Seattle this year. The suit further accuses Moon of pulling off the woman’s bathing suit after slipping a drug into her drink during a separate trip to Mexico in October.”
Both a publicist from Moon’s marketing company and the Seahawks, declined to comment on the suit. Haskell claims that “she was demoted by the firm in October after she complained about Moon’s sexual advances.”
Moon was sued for sexual harassment by a cheerleader 20 years ago, when he played for the Vikings. That case was settled soon after its filing.
According to Pro Football Talk, “Given that Moon is employed by the Seahawks, he also faces potential discipline under the NFL’s Personal Conduct Policy.”
