No, this isn’t some mad conspiracy theory – the Notorious B.I.G is alive and well in Canada.
Unfortunately, we are not talking about the rapper who was shot in 1997, but a cat named after the star whose survival has been dubbed a ‘miracle’.
Nicole Crandell’s pet cat Biggie – named after the hip hop star – was shot multiple times with a pellet gun at close range, vets say.
His body was found riddled with bullets in his head, cheek, neck, jaw and back, CBC News reported.
According to Nicole, vets said it was a deliberate and targeted attack, which has left her feeling ‘disgusted’.
Biggie went missing from his home in College Heights, British Columbia, Canada on November 3 and Nicole feared he had been caught by a fox.
But she was stunned when she received a call from a vet telling her he was alive – but found 15 kilometres from her home and full of pellets.
She said: ‘The vet said the way the pellets were in his head, it’s like a pellet gun was held up to his head and his body … they were doing this on purpose.’
Nicole now worries that someone in her neighbourhood carried out the attack and the SPCA is investigating.
But Biggie is making a full recovery with Nicole calling him a ‘miracle cat’.
