Women are genuinely more attractive when they wear red, apparently

Red has always been a sensual, nay, sexual colour.

Lady in Red…the scarlet woman…it’s a shade associated with women fully in control of their sexuality.

Anyway, turns out that red actually does make women more attractive to heterosexual men.

Because one dating expert donned a red (but not revealing) coat and claims that it was responsible for the ‘flurry of attention’ she subsequently received.

Harley Quinn spent an afternoon walking around East London in her crimson coat. Normally she doesn’t get approached on the street but this time, she was shocked by the number of compliments she received from strangers.

Some asked for her phone number and one even gave her a kiss on the cheeks.

She then went on to split test two dating profiles on Tinder and Bumble – one where she’s wearing cream or white coloured clothes and the other where she is ‘the Lady in Red’.

Wearing red but pretty modest clothes, on Bumble, she got 74 matches in three minutes. On Tinder, wearing red, she got over double the number that she got wearing lighter shades.

‘Today I have learnt that wearing red does seem to work,’ she says.

‘Apart from it looking like the colour of sexual arousal, it I also think it’s probably because you actually stand out and have visibility – whether that’s the photo popping out on an online dating profile or just as you’re walking along, people can actually see you.’

Haley goes on to say that the most important elements to increase hen it comes to making contact with the types of guys you’d actually want to get to know are what she calls ‘the VEP’: visibility, eye contact, proximity.

To find out more about how to increase your VEP, head to Haley’s website.
