This is what it looks like when a couple of rebellious cats go on a weed binge.
A cannabis smoker learned a valuable lesson about looking after her plants – and her pets – when she returned to find this mess in her home in the US state of Massachusetts.

A video of the incident first shows how her marijuana plants had toppled over, with soil spilling on to the floor, before panning to show her cats.
One of the animals, Gizmo, at first appears to be completely passed out under a chair, while another lets out a lethargic meow.
The bizarre incident happened in June, but this footage has only emerged recently.

The caption of the video reads: ‘My grow lights had broken and I moved my plants onto the porch for about 15-20 minutes.
‘When I went out to move them back into the grow room my cats had eaten all the plants.’
Narrating the scene, the woman can be heard saying: ‘So I could hear this sound outside of something falling down, and of course, I’ve got my plants.’
She adds ‘then we find this guy under here’, while moving the camera down to show Gizmo lying on his back with his eyes closed.
Just when the scene seemingly can’t get more ridiculous, the camera once again pivots to show a second dozy cat lying on its back.

Cannabis is legal in Massachusetts (it’s just really not a good idea for cats to eat it).
Since 2016, locals have been allowed to grow up to six plants in their own home and use the substance for medical and recreational purposes.
