FA hand Bristol City defender Bailey Wright retrospective ban for simulation

The Football Association have really upset Bristol City.

The Championship club released a statement on Friday expressing their “huge surprise” to learn their defender Bailey Wright has been handed a two-game suspension for simulation.

Following an incident with Fulham’s Aboubakar Kamara, Wright fell to the floor after a collision between the two players.

Kamara was sent off but the FA have since rescinded the decision and banned Wright.

This is the first season in which the governing body has been able to retrospectively ban players for simulation.
